WELCOME TO THE BEST BASEBALL IN GROVE CITY!

The Grove City Buddy Ball program is more than just baseball. It is about making new friends, building self-esteem and treating everyone equally. Buddy Ball removes barriers that keep children and adults with mental and physical disabilities off the baseball field. Our teams play on the Mirolo Dream Field, at Mount Carmel Stadium, a custom designed tiled rubberized surface that will accommodate wheelchairs and other assistive devices.

What does a typical season look like?

The All-Ages League is for players aged 4 and up and held each Spring for 8 weeks from May through June. Games are played on Saturday mornings and each game will last approximately 45 minutes. Each team will bat completely through their lineup with each player getting on base. The last player in the lineup will score a homerun and bring everyone home, then the teams will switch. All games will end in a tie.

The 2 teams comprised of our youngest athletes will always play the first game, and we ask that a parent or family member be the Buddy for their athlete.

The Adult League is for our athletes aged 16 and up. Play is in the Spring concurrent with the All-Ages League, with a shorter season held in the Fall as well. Games are on Tuesday evenings and last approximately 75 minutes. Regular baseball rules, offensive and defensive skills are taught and encouraged.  Each team bats until they either get 3 outs or bat around the lineup, and the actual score is kept. The team with the best record at the end of the season is crowned Champion!

Community Supporting Community

Grove City Buddy Ball is only successful with the support of the community. We provide opportunities for all persons to play baseball regardless of ability. Players have physical and/or intellectual disabilities and are supported by volunteers called Buddies.

Check out the VOLUNTEER page for more information on how to sign-up to be a buddy at games!
